This product is coloured with a dyestuff that adheres to cotton at lower temperatures. This means we use less water and energy in the dyeing process.
All the cotton in our products comes from more sustainable sources. This means that the cotton is either recycled, or grown with less water, less fertilisers and less pesticides, while increasing profit margins for the farmers.

At IKEA, a bit of science helps us become more sustainable in our production. We’re using a new dyestuff that sticks to cotton better - even at lower temperatures. What does this mean exactly? It means we use less dyestuff and less water in the production – and we cut our energy-use too. All this translates to a more sustainable solution that saves on precious resources with beautiful results.
